About Sekhem Massage Therapy
Sekhem Massage Therapy provides holistic massage support designed specifically to support women's health and wellbeing, oncology massage (cancer massage) and energy healing treatments. It is the first and only massage studio in Cornwall that offers signature experiences influenced by the ancient Egyptian energy healing modality known as Sekhem.
Now open at Trevissome Park, Truro services include full and partial body massage, massage treatment packages as well as indulgent signature experiences.
Your Therapist
I’m Vanessa, an accredited VTCT and CIBTAC qualified beautician and massage therapist. Whilst I first qualified over 25yrs ago, I recently returned to beauty and massage and upgraded my qualifications in January 2024. I am committed to refreshing my skills regularly and have recently become an accredited Oncology Massage practitioner, building on my previous knowledge and experience working as a Mammographer in an NHS breast care unit. I am also a menopause informed therapist, certified in supporting my clients to embrace the transition through perimenopause, menopause and post menopause with nourishing treatments that will help you manage the symptoms.
I’m a mom of 4 kids (teens and adults) and I’m in the thick of perimenopause so don’t worry, if that’s you too, I’ve got you. Along with lots of study around Sekhem Energy Healing, existing Reiki attunements and counselling qualifications, I bring plenty of life experience and wisdom earned along the way, I’m here for all the mind, body and soul support you need.
Why Sekhem?
Sekhem (pronounced Sek-hem) is a form of Ancient Egyptian Healing, developed over the centuries and taught as part of the spiritual practices in the Temples of Ancient Egypt. It is rumoured to deliver unconditional love to a degree that you may not have experienced before. For many it feels like coming ‘home’.
Sekhem refers to a complete energy system and is considered as gentle, yet ultra powerful in what it delivers to the individual.
Sekhem energy is associated with the Goddess Sekhmet, a guardian and protector, destroyer and healer. Bringing balance to opposing forces. Sekhmet breaks down anything that no longer serves us, so that we can rebuild and transform.
This energy combined with more widely known Reiki felt aligned to the kind of holistic support I aim to provide. A nourishing and soulful experience that connects the mind and body, leaving you feeling fully relaxed, rebalanced and restored. About the Sekhem Studio
The Sekhem studio is situated in the 'Eco Box' at the heart of Trevissome Park, which is easily accessible just off Chiverton Cross roundabout, Truro. There is ample free parking on site to help you arrive and leave your appointment stress free. Clients tell me that they love how 'cosy and safe it feels inside' and everyone comments that it 'smells amazing!'. I certainly love it, and I know you will too.
Once you arrive on site, you will see the NHS Ultrasound Clinics on your left and a selection of wooden and brick buildings on your right. Turn RIGHT and as you follow the driveway, look out for the small wooden and metal 'Eco Box' which is nestled between the cluster of brick barns.. That's the studio. Please park up and come on in.
